The EU Sport Event came to Padua on July 11 for an afternoon combining sports, participation and inclusion.
On July 11, 2024, ArcellaBella - Milcovich Park hosted a day dedicated to social inclusion and sports, as part of the European project Moving On. The day was enriched by the presence of European partners involved in the project and its beneficiaries, united by the common goal of promoting the inclusion of the Roma, Sinti, and Traveller (RST) community through sports. During the event, instructors from UISP Padova guided participants through a series of dynamic and engaging activities, introducing them to various sports disciplines. The program included hip-hop lessons, capoeira sessions, and ultimate frisbee, a team sport that promotes group play and cooperation. In addition to the sporting and social importance of the day, the event coincided with the Transnational Partner Meeting, a crucial gathering for the project's development. Representatives from the European partners had the opportunity to interact, discuss the progress made, and plan future project activities. The event was a success in several aspects: it actively engaged the RST community, and the local community also responded positively by participating in the initiative. This fostered intercultural exchange and provided an important platform to promote inclusion and social cohesion. Thanks to the collaboration with Inex SDA, ALDA, FAGiC, FARE NETWORK, EHI, and ERRC.
